Common questions
The questions people actually ask before signing up, answered plainly. If yours is not here, get in touch and we will add it.
Getting started and pricing
- Do I need a card to start?
No. The Free plan costs nothing and needs no card details. You sign up, answer the setup questions and your site is live. You only enter payment details if and when you choose a paid plan.
- How long does setup take?
Most people are live the same day. Setup is a series of questions — your trade, the towns you cover, your services, your photos, your logo and colours — and Orvia drafts the wording for you to edit. An hour of concentrated effort is typical.
- What do the plans cost?
Free is £0. Website is £15 a month and includes your own web address and three local area pages. Starter is £29 a month and adds the CRM, jobs and customers, unlimited area pages, unlimited quotes and five invoices a month. Pro is £79 a month with unlimited invoicing, the job map, gallery, referrals and up to five team members. Enterprise is priced individually.
Annual payment is available on the paid plans at roughly ten months for twelve.
- Are there any hidden costs?
No. The two optional extras are clearly priced: a web address, charged at live registry cost plus a small margin and renewed yearly, and the phone add-on at £6 a month for a text number or £12 a month plus £25 setup for the assistant landline.
- Can I change plan later?
Yes, up or down, at any time from your billing screen. Your site, customers and history stay where they are; only the features available to you change.
Your website and web address
- Who owns the web address?
You do. When you buy a domain through Orvia it is registered in your business's name with your business as the legal registrant. If you ever leave, you take it with you.
- I already have a web address — can I use it?
Yes. Point it at Orvia and we will guide you through the settings, or we can do it with you. You keep it wherever it is currently registered if you prefer.
- What happens if a domain renewal payment fails?
You get standard reminder emails first. If payment still has not gone through, your site stays live for a 14-day grace period, then falls back to your Orvia address while renewal reminders continue. We do not let a domain lapse quietly.
- Will my site rank on Google?
No one can promise rankings, and you should be suspicious of anyone who does. What Orvia does is give you the things that make ranking possible: fast server-rendered pages, a genuinely different page for each town you cover, correct titles and descriptions, machine-readable business details linked to your Google profile, and a sitemap. The rest is reviews, time and being genuinely local.
Your data
- Who owns the customer data I put into Orvia?
You do. Your customers' details, jobs, quotes, invoices and photos belong to your business. Orvia processes them on your behalf under the Data Processing Agreement, and does not sell or share them.
- Can I export everything?
Yes. Customers, enquiries and consent history can be exported, and documents can be saved as PDFs. Nothing is held hostage.
- How does Orvia handle marketing permissions and GDPR?
Nothing is opted in by default and nothing is inferred. Marketing permission is asked for only after an enquiry has actually been sent, recorded per channel — email, text, WhatsApp, phone — with the date, the wording shown and the version of the notice in force at the time. Withdrawals are recorded the same way and suppress future marketing immediately. Every customer site has its own privacy notice.
Cancelling and billing
- What is the no-leads guarantee?
On Starter, Pro and Enterprise, if a whole month passes with no enquiries at all, your subscription pauses automatically and does not charge again until a new lead comes in. There is nothing to claim and nobody to ring.
- Can I cancel whenever I like?
Yes. Paid plans are monthly and you can cancel from your billing screen. Cancelling stops future payments and ends access to paid features at the end of the period you have paid for.
- What is the difference between cancelling and deleting?
Cancelling stops billing but keeps your account and data, so you can come back. Deleting removes your account and its data permanently and cannot be undone. They are separate actions on purpose, and deletion asks you to confirm.
- Do you offer refunds?
Orvia is supplied for business use, so consumer cancellation rights for online purchases do not apply. If something has genuinely gone wrong at our end, get in touch and we will sort it out. Domain registrations cannot be refunded once the registry has taken the money.
- Is VAT included in the prices?
Plan prices are shown as published on the pricing page; your invoice shows the VAT treatment that applies. Within Orvia, VAT on your own quotes and invoices is optional per business and switched off by default, so sole traders below the threshold are not forced to display it.
Support and what is coming
- What support do I get?
Email support on every plan, prioritised on Pro, and dedicated support on Enterprise. There is also a written setup guide and short walkthrough videos.
- Is Orvia still being developed?
Yes, continuously, and improvements reach every customer on the relevant plan without an upgrade project. Quotes, invoices, the customer portal and local area pages were all added after launch. Card payments on invoices and accounting integrations are the areas we are looking at next.
Still deciding?
The Free plan needs no card, so you can see your own site before spending anything.
