Orvia vs Wix

Wix is a website builder. Compared as at 2026-09-11.

Wix is a general website builder: enormously flexible, and entirely dependent on you having the time, taste and patience to design and maintain a site. Orvia is not a builder at all — it asks you questions and produces a finished trade site, then keeps running the business behind it.

What Wix is genuinely good at

  • Almost unlimited design freedom
  • Huge template and app library
  • Suits any industry, not just trades
  • Very cheap entry-level plans

Choose Wix if…

Anyone who wants full control of design, or a business whose needs are unusual enough that no industry-specific product fits.

Choose Orvia if…

Trade businesses who want a good site to exist by this evening and who have no intention of becoming a part-time web designer.

Our take

The honest comparison is time, not features. A determined person can build a better-looking site on Wix than Orvia's layout, and a good few tradespeople have. The question is what happened to the ones who started and never finished, and what the half-built site cost them in the meantime.

The second difference is what happens after a visitor fills the form. On Wix, an email arrives — and then you are back to your phone, a notebook and a diary. In Orvia the enquiry becomes a job, the job becomes a quote, the quote becomes an invoice, and the customer can watch their job progress in a portal.

Local search is the third. Wix can rank perfectly well, but somebody has to write a genuinely different page for each town you cover and keep them updated. Orvia drafts those from your business details, deliberately varying them, and wires up the titles, official address tags and sitemap automatically.

If design control is genuinely important to you — you have a strong brand, or an unusual offer that needs explaining in a specific way — a builder is the right call, and we would rather you used one than felt boxed in.

The verdict

Choose Wix if you want design control and are happy to build and maintain the site yourself. Choose Orvia if you want a finished trade site today, with the enquiry inbox, CRM and invoicing behind it.
